Visit the Wildlife Park in Poing, near Munich, and enjoy all the animals, that live (or did live) in the bavarian woods. On a trail through the woods you will be presented primarily in Europe situated wild animals.Founded as a private wildlife park in 1959, the Poing Wildlife Park has become a popular tourist destination. After eleven years of preparatory work, the park was opened in 1970, covering an area of 570,000 m². It offers year-round the opportunity to observe native wildlife up close. It has also been awarded with the Bavarian Environmental Medal.
A main attraction is the bird show, that takes place twice a day. In addition, there is also a Pony Farm, a really large and fantastic playground with a huge picnic area, a forest trail and a wetland system.
Since early 2007, the seven-year-old brown bear Mia lives with her three "daughters" Maja, Mette and Molly within the park.
