There is no reason for not choosing a hotel in Munich´s downtown-area. This way you will stay close to the best traditional restaurants (like the Hofbräuhaus or the Weißes Brauhaus) and of course close to most of the sightseeing attractions. By underground and S-Bahn you will easily reach all the destinations that are a little bit outside of the city center and they do of course also offer a perfect access to the main station and the airport.
If you prefer not to stay in the city or all the hotels downtown have no vacancy, please check out before booking whether your hotel is situated close to an underground station or S-Bahn station. This should make the difference.
