Munich´s famous zoo, named Tierpark Hellabrunn, is an outstanding attraction in a wonderful area close to river Isar. This year the new icebear-habitat finally opened. Now you can even watch the icebears swimming underwater. Don´t miss the gigantic jungle house with different kind of apes. Watching the gorillas is always big fun! And the funny orangutans even have a building of theír own called "Orangutan Paradise". Ask for the feeding times! The public feeding e. g. of the sealions is always worth watching. Munich has a baby elephant again: Almost a week after his birth the youngest member of the herd of elephants in the zoo Hellabrunn was presented to the public. The little elephant who was born on 6 May 2011 is supposed to be named "Ludwig", a very traditional bavarian name. The baby elephant is the son of elephant Temi. It took him 22 months to reach the light of day.
